Personal Statement

I’m an experienced Website Developer looking to continue my career within web development preferable in a remote role. I have excellent coding skills and a keen eye for details. I enjoy taking designs and ideas and creating interesting sites covering many different sectors including decking, crazy-golf, and museums.

Personal Interests

In my spare time, I spend time reading tech blogs, practicing different coding methods, learning different CMS. Away from coding, I enjoy all manors of sports, including 5-a-side football, and am a keen snowboarder, as well as enjoying following lots of sports from Football to Cricket, and NFL.

Career Achievements

  • Took on lead developer role at Parallel Creative, and developed framework and systems to speed development and ensure sites are built on a solid foundation
  • Built large scale websites that increased sample requests by 49.6% YoY and 67.5% MoM
  • Worked at Renaissance as their first in-house web developer and whilst there developed and actively maintained over 50 websites.
  • Working internationally with clients from Australia and America, coordinating projects to maximise time to get the needs met.
  • Skilled at taking PSD layouts and converting to clean HTML code, this has also including taking the design and wire-framing internal pages as well as responsive layouts.
  • Built mobile responsive templates for use in Campaign Monitor, DotMailer, MailChimp and more.

Senior Web Developer

Responsibilities

Parallel Creative established in 2015 after two companies merged had a need for a new Senior Web Developer to lead the team, by bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience, started with auditing the current web projects and taking on the development and training of the existing web developers in house. Worked on many projects big and small, from single-page Christmas promotional microsites, to high capacity composite decking. Currently working on a few projects including an online Math tutition and learning platform built in WordPress.

Web Developer

Renaissance Creative

Responsibilities

My role at Renaissance Creative is a comprehensive role, ranging from building HTML/CSS websites from PSD's, bespoke WordPress themes and plugins to building REST API connectors to transmit orders to assist with managing multiple shops and assisting in guidance to Salesforce Developers to build a secondary connector to that. My responsibilities involved taking briefs from clients and managing multiple projects working with the clients, designers and management to ensure costings, timescales and expectations are met. Renaissance have a couple of dedicated servers that I have also maintained using a Plesk control panel, ensuring the maintenance and uptime of over 50 websites.

Web Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

When I joined Western Computer they were about to launch a new website that had been developed externally, and with my experience I took over the maintainance and learnt Umbraco, XLST, and ASP to build new templates, update the code to modern standards (originally built in tables), and took over the HTML email creation, helping to increase the Open and Click Rates to above industry averages.

Responsibilities

In my spare time after leaving University, I knew I had to gain some real world experience so I started contacting local charities & new businesses, offering my skills to help provide them with new websites, using content management systems. During this time my details were passed onto local design agencies who had meetings with myself and had a very successful long term relationship with. Parts of my jobs involved creating HTML email templates to use with MailChimp and Campaign Monitor for reuse and changes.
